Alas, what if the possible prince has a terrible curse – shyness?
I’ve known that fear personally and it is a most overwhelming curse, far beyond the reason of a rational man.

Sometimes it is wise to send the squire out just to ensure closure and prevent a terrible feeling of ‘what if’.

Besides, who said we are still living in the mid ages?

Well my dear peasant, there are a few factors at play here. I like a man who makes the first move. I have certainly given the possible prince more than a few opening, and he has proven to not be shy. He has even said he wants to ask me out. But he’s not doing it. (Even after I indicated I would say yes.) Shyness is not the problem here, a lack of follow through is.

And any age that gets the door opened for me and involves men making the first move works for me.

So many more kingdoms to be conquered, and so little time. What happens to the princess who waits and waits in the tower? An ugly troll comes skipping along and does something stupid and the princess is stuck. Maybe he is not a prince but a troll in disguise? Not worth the wait, and yes, actions speak louder than words. Put on your glass slippers and go and enjoy the kingdom. When you least expect it then the right prince will help you into the carriage and the happily ever afters will fall into place. Good Luck!

Can I do it without the glass slippers though? That sounds uncomfortable.

I am sure you have heard that actions, my dear, speak louder than words. In this case, his inactivity speaks volumes. I say the princess starts looking in a new kingdom.

Or, given some other developments in my life, I could just stop looking for a while. But I agree.

I observed in an earlier comment that he didn’t seem so princely to me. If he doesn’t come to you, he’s not worth your time.

This smells like an “I told you so”. Granted, you did… so that’s allowed.

There was probably a coup and the possible prince is now sitting in the dungeon of some evil witch who plans on feeding him poisoned apples and forcing him into her bed.

I say you let the Prince battle it out on his own. After all….it’s NOT “The Princess rides in on a white horse and saves the Prince” in ANY of the fairy tales.

This is true. Also, I’m thinking he’s really just a regular old peasant. And everyone knows a princess can’t date outside royalty!

Don’t do it. Let the possible prince contact the princess, because then she’ll never question what she should do. She dropped the hints, and that should tell the prince that she is awaiting.

Personally, I think the princess is over his mixed signals and odd behavior. I don’t think she’s even really waiting anymore. But that’s just me.
